Walkthroughs, with the transcript on the page
A video is a bad place to keep an explanation: it cannot be searched, quoted or read with the sound off. Each
walkthrough below has a full written version, so the page is useful without pressing play.
What the analysis does, in four minutes
The intended walkthrough: upload a log, read the log-quality score before the charts, check the step response
per axis, then read the before/after table and copy the CLI. There is no video file embedded yet — when one is
published it will be a privacy-enhanced embed, loaded only after a click, with the transcript below it.
Transcript (written version)
- Start with the log, not the tune. The report scores the log first. If the score says the
log cannot support a tuning decision, stop and fly a better one. The guides show how.
- Read the spectrum before the step. A motor-noise peak and a frame tone are different
problems. The spectrum tells you which frequencies are present; it does not tell you which screw is loose.
- Read the step response one axis at a time. Overshoot and droop look similar and have
opposite fixes. The confidence grade tells you whether the chart is allowed to move gain at all.
- Read the before/after table. Every line states the old value, the new value, and the rule
and measurement that produced it. If a line does not make sense, do not paste it.
- Copy the CLI and change one profile at a time. Fly the verification flight, check motor
temperature, then re-log and compare. The comparison is the actual test.
Planned episodes
- Reading a step response: overshoot vs droop, with two real charts.
- Why a weak step chart is not allowed to raise gain.
- From a Betaflight 4.2 CLI log to a before/after table.
- What a re-log should prove, and what it cannot.
